There are two primary schools of medicine in the United States: Osteopathic (D.O.) and Allopathic (M.D.) medicine. Education is similar in both kinds of institutions, both must pass the same exams and licensing, but Osteopaths (D.O) undergo training to evaluate the neuromusculoskeletal system and seek to achieve total health through the use of manual manipulative medicine.
